A
combination of history and tradition, Nîmes is the place for a culture
and leisure break. With its Roman amphitheatre, Maison Carrée and Tour Magne, Nîmes

But Nîmes is also a place to rediscover southern tradition: the
famous Feria festivities in June and in autumn; denim and other printed
cotton fabrics and their typically provençal patterns... The
town centre's labyrinth of tiny streets leading from specimens of
classical Roman architecture to the rigour of the buildings from Protestant
times, with plenty of markets and shops selling local products all along
the way.

The nearby garrigue has other emblematic items to offer, such as olive
trees and capitelles, dry stone dome-shaped huts, scattered here and there.
